Artist Statement
I created this piece to convey my placid inner state of mind, especially during retrospection or in idle rumination.
I used snow in this piece as it is cool, soft, and covers surfaces smoothly like a blanket. I like to think of this as a way to cool down thoughts, suppress them and turn them into consolidated ideas. It’s a form of grounding within my thoughts. A lot of these moments occur when I go skiing, and so while the image may appear isolating, it is a form of quiet happiness for me.
