Artist Statement
My goal for this assignment was to orient myself as much as possible to the structure of adobe illustrator and vinyl printing, in order to be prepared for the larger window vinyl project next. I liked the idea of these overlaps between concentric circles, and the intricate patterns that can be formed as the product of such simplified shapes. It was harder to translate this design to a physical form, as the rings were initially too thin to print on regular material. To get around this, we used a thicker vinyl while printing (hence the red.) In the future, I'll try and make my designs less thin, to prevent tearing the material further.
