Artist Statement
For this assignment, our objective was to each contribute a on theme figure to create a cohesive work. As an inspiration from the farm-setting book Charlotte's Web, i decided to use the period to make a spider. Having been accustomed to mainly 2-D work, I didn't particularily know how to approach solid work. As a result, my figurine was composed of basic 3-D shapes, cutting and taping together slits to make a octagon. My plan then on was to poke holes in each dimension of the octagon, and feed through metal wire to represent legs and webbing. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to complete the components on time and had to leave it like this.
