Artist Statement
My past feels like a shadow so baby Grace would be in the shadow of current Grace. It felt like a piece dedicated to myself, telling my younger self that I’d be fine and showing my present self how far I’ve come. Using procreate allowed a lot more room for the color palette which I wanted to feel nostalgic, which I think I succeeded in. The goal of this piece is to evoke a happy sense of nostalgia and memories of growing up and improving.
