Artist Statement
Each painting is of a different moment with my family. I didn't paint any of the people in the original pictures because I think it emphasizes these moments as private, my family members each know what the paintings are of and thats all I need. The outside of each bowl is handprinted and signed by a different member of my family. I did this because I wanted them to be involved in the making of this piece and it makes them feel more personal. My sister having made the bowls for me to paint also helps with how personal these pieces are to me.
