Artist Statement
This painting is based on my memory and a photograph from my trip to Norway. My goal was to copy the clear atmosphere. While painting, I learned to about composition and perspective. The challenging part was getting the shapes of the cabins right, but it was satisfying to see them come together on the canvas. I also spent time layering white and other shades of blue and green on the water to show depth. It was fun and challenging to turn a real image into art.
