Artist Statement
This is the first bowl I have ever made. I wanted to create something simple and functional that could be used in everyday life. The bowl is slightly wide and shallow, which gives it a more open shape compared to a traditional deep bowl. Because of its size and shape, it can be used to store small objects such as paper clips, jewelry, or candy.
It can also be used as a small yogurt bowl. The wide surface gives enough space to spread out different toppings, making it both practical and visually appealing. Since this was my first bowl, creating the shape and keeping the sides even was a learning experience. Overall, I wanted to make a simple piece that could have multiple purposes while showing my first experience working with clay.
