Artist Statement
I never took a liking to history. It seemed pointless to revisit the past when we could focus on the future. In fact, there are hundreds of inspirational quotes that implicitly discount the past by emphasizing the benefits of solely focusing on the next step of the journey. But what history teaches us are patterns that can be used to predict the contemporary or the future. My sustained investigation was inspired by the usage of systems, animals, sensory details, materials, or anything existing in the contemporary world to represent historical occurrences.
