Artist Statement
I designed this as the storefront for a prop rental store. I took inspiration from modern mall architecture, and shrank it down to have the curving shapes around the front of the store. Because this store would likely be placed in New York City, I designed it to fit into a corner of a block of buildings. It also has an overhang in front of the door to provide cover from the rain. On the interior, I added lots of shelves and furniature. One side of the store has rows of shelves for small props, with those boards along the wall to allow for hanging up items like farmer's rakes or fake firearms. On the other side, theres a section dedicated to large furniture pieces like couches or bookshelves. On the second floor for office space and additional storage. Throught the building, there are large windows to allow for natural lighting throughtout the day. There are also circular lights hanging from the high ceiling, giving a comfortable shopping and browsing experience.
