Artist Statement
This design was inspired by a conversation between my friend and his mom, where his mom is against the idea of him buying a motorcyle because it is more dangerous than cars, whereas he thinks owning a motorcycle will allow him to be more agile on the road, allowing him to go in between traffic to save some time. Therefore, I wanted to incorporate the two ideas, creating a one person car that has the safety of a car, but the agility of a motorycle. Through research, I found that there were already one person cars, however, they were not very appealing, therefore, I created my one person car based on vintage mercedes car models, in hopes of creating a one person car, containing all of the benefits while still making the person inside it feel fashionable.
Through this project, I learned how to better manipulate objectst through Rhino and SubD to create the shapes of the car I wanted, along with how to properly incorporate the use of AI in designing as a tool to better render my design while still maintaining the core idea of my design.
