Artist Statement
For this investigation, it wanted the explore my own complex relationship with music adding onto my collection of representing my own identity through self-portraits. I used the contrast in shades both in my face and in the background to show the mixed emotions when I think about me and the piano. It's a mix sense of relief, recalling all the barriers I've had to overcome and the stress behind feeling as if it's never enough.
