Artist Statement
With the use of social media, society is being consumed into the digital world, ultimately losing touch with each other. In the sculpture, a hand is broken and the fingers are shattered into many pieces, which depicts the saying of losing touch with society. While the hand is in the act of reaching for something under the torn and damaged, almost like a war zone, environment. This piece aims to convey the detrimental effects of social media and how harmful it has been on people.
