Artist Statement
In this piece, I attempted to enhance sadness with dispersion of paint. I decided to primarily focus on the eyes in order to convey the tearing of the eye - which is used in contrast to a tear drop to show the figure's constraint. The use of visible paint strokes that disperse outwards further highlights the state of vagueness one feels when they are teared up and unable to think.
