Course Description
The introductory film course will immerse students in video
production. The primary focus is on using film as a communicative
art. Students will learn the basics of cinematography, camera
functions, video editing, media analysis, and visual communication.
This project-based class will challenge students to explore and
produce many different types of films. Projects will include but are
not limited to micro-documentaries, narrative short films, public
service announcements, commercials, montages, and music
videos. Students should have the ability to work independently
and collaboratively and see a project from inception to completion.
Students must obtain a 1TB or larger external hard drive to store
and manage their digital assets. Class size is limited.
