Course Description
As an introductory course, students will design structures, build
models, use technology to create forms and render images while
learning about various types of architecture. Students will develop
their visual problem-solving skills, learn about spatial organization.
Students will explore various kinds of relationships between people
and built form as well as consider the impact of sustainability and
concern for the environment through designing, drawing, and
model-making. Assignments will explore fundamental design
principles that outline the elements of architectural design like
those found in the university. Students will gain hand-drawing
abilities that inspire and guide them in their own creative process.
Computer software such as Rhino and Adobe suite are introduced
as additional artistic tools. Students will develop a positive web
presence by maintaining the web gallery.
