Artist Statement
For this piece I decided to make a 3D model based off of a Dalek, which is a type of alien from a TV show called Doctor Who. I chose the Daleks because I have been a fan of the show since I was 4 years old (despite the fact that the show is supposed to be at least 13+) and I found their design interesting. The design proved to be more challenging than I originally thought it would be, but as time went on I found the process easier and more enjoyable than tedious. I played around with the colours quite a bit, trying to keep it similar to the original but still unique and adding more variation. I also changed the laser gun design from the original Daleks to be a bit more simple and easier to make. Overall it was a very enjoyable and educating experience!
