Artist Statement
1. This was a illustration that moved me. I thought this painting really captured the feeling of imagination and childlike wonder
2.This was a illustration that surprised me. I thought the artist was very creative and it demonstrated the power of perspective.
3. This was a story that made me smile. The story was about how different animals show love in different ways and I thought it was very cute.
4.This is was a story that made me want to cry. The story was about how war changes people's lives, and I thought the bottom image was especially powerful.
5. This was a satisfying color palette. I liked all the shades of red, and how the value scale can be used to create colors that don't seem to be there.
6. This was a cool painting technique. By using water colors and negative space, the artist made the ghosts look like a separate layer of the painting, and it captured the image of something being invisible.
