Artist Statement
For my first piece of artwork, I create a unique matcha bowl that is actually functionable. It was pretty challenging creating the perfect shape for the matcha bowl and the perfect thickness for the sides. After my piece is dried, I attempted at trimming my pottery but my base was too thin so the bottom wasn't stable. I fixed this my gathering extra clay and patching the weak spots. However, next time I will make sure I confirm the thickness of the bottom of my pottery so this would not happen again. Overall, I am pretty happy with this piece of artwork that I have created and am proud of myself for completing a harder pot as a beginner potter.
