Artist Statement
I designed this lizard with an aquatic theme in mind, with the original reference image I made including sails and webbed feet. However, while I was making this, I decided to go for a more semi-aquatic/evolved look, but I still kept the gills. My design was semi-inspired by the spinosaurus, but only for the sail-like formation on its back. I used a blue-green colour pallete with the idea that it would be a form of camoflage for the lizard's environment, and gave it a club-like end of its tail as a form of defense. I made the colours go in a gradient from dark-light corresponding with the centre of its body to the ends.
