Artist Statement
I wanted to create a more cartoony style of a lizard with eyes that pop out, a tongue sticking out, and a red dorsal crest along its back. At first, I only started out with a simple outline of a reptile, then I shortened the head, added sharper ears, made the eyes pop out, and added a tongue sticking out. To make it more detailed, I added a textures and colors that made it more lizard-like. Finally, to make it more lively, I gave it a pose as if the lizard were frozen mid-step.
