Artist Statement

I chose a more organic subject because when we did the '6 Emotions' assignment i enjoyed the organic, and softer aspect of our subject, rather than the robots. I felt i was better able to express myself through the details on my work, thats why i chose to do another anima, I wanted to do another Canidae family memeber, after my hellhound. The part I found the most challenging about this project was the starting process, because it was a new creature, I had to first create my base in Maya, which was quite difficult, and took as while to finish, but the hardest part was toning down the large shape that didn't relfect what i wanted to see. This stage was difficult because I wanted the body to be much narrower thatn the original base, and I had not sculpted a fullbody creature yet. After this part was the detailing, which was enjoyable, as was the coloring. I am overall very satisfied witht his the finished product, If i could do it again, I might play around witht he proportions and color more. I would probably do a wolf or some other Canidae family memebr.
