Artist Statement
My three images are connected through the progression of a basketball moment: preparation, action, and result. The first photo shows my friend holding the ball, representing the beginning and anticipation before the play. The second image captures the act of shooting, highlighting movement and focus during the shot. I used the technique to freeze the ball in the air and high shutter speed. The third photo focuses on the ball and the rim, symbolizing the outcome and the goal of the action. I plan to use different camera settings for each image, such as adjusting the shutter speed to freeze the motion during the shot and changing the focus and aperture to emphasize the ball and rim in the final image.
