Artist Statement
My inspiration for this project was the thorny devil. That gave me inspration for the spikes on the backs amd also the really menacing look. The texture was made to look broken up on purpose because of the scars and rough terrian he had to survive in. He enivronment is also really hard to survive in so his survivablity is more important than his looks. The green pattern hands are inspired by green geckos which look really good. He also has the light green trasition to light blue color scheme because he is amphbius and can swim into the water. The light blue helps him better camofluage underwater. This concept art is more of a abstract version of the lizard because my idea before I wanted it to look colorful but i later chose to make it the green gecko color. The white underbelly is suppose to symbolize his weakness which is his belly and if he was ever attacked there he would die immediatly. There isn't any spikes on the tail because his tail is the only part that regenrates and grows again so if there was spikes there he would need to regernate a lot more material.
