My findings on my SIs!
As the investigation continued, I discovered a pattern that was continuing to show up in all of my works - collage. The collage of the media in each work serves a different purpose.
for example, in si1, the photo serves as a background palette for the digital illustration above it.
In SI 4, a printed digital photo serves as the background, and white brush strokes, watercolor, give a dreamlike feeling of switching between reality and illusion.
In SI 3, the digital photos were placed at the positive spaces (left) where the negative spaces were focused on the right, balancing the composition.
In SI 7, the collage of watercolor pieces played the role of scrap paper. By adding the sketched hands collaging these scraps of paper, it captured the moment of me collaging a collage that portrayed the views I am seeing from morning to noon.
