Artist Statement

In this project we walked around Tianmu and took pictures that related to my theme. At first my theme was streets because I wanted to make a series of images that is supposed to replicate someone walking down the street into the different landmarks. But then later on I changed to nature and greenery because there were a lot of animals that day. My images go together because there is usually a main subject and surrounded by nature (a tree, fish, turtle, door). I mainly used the rule of thirds because it’s the most versatile technique to use and I also tried to use a main subject with foreground, midground, and background to capture the feeling that you're there. In this series, I want people to feel the nature of Taiwan and to see the beauty that this country has to offer. With the various different animals and unique architecture, people are able to understand that Taiwan is a beautiful place if you know where to look.
