Artist Statement
Our project was called the “Our Neighborhood series” . We walked around Tianmu, Taiwan near TAS to find a certain series of pictures. I tried to use certain compositional techniques such as frame inside frame or rules of third to make my images stand out more. My topic that I was basing my images around was creatures of Taiwan. All my images include a certain animal in it, whether it's a bird, fish, or turtles. In photoshop, I edited the brightness and used techniques from past projects such as tilt shift. I want my viewers to see how animals are all around us, whether we see them or not. As someone who lives in an apartment, I feel as if there aren't many creatures that we can see from parks or temples, but I want the viewers to know that life can be seen everywhere, from small ponds to up high on trees.
