Artist Statement
To continue on my investigation on the contrasting emotions experienced on and off the court, I focused on another big name in tennis. Throughout her journey, facing countless challenges along the way, Sabalenka is still currency the world number one in women's tennis. The emotions she displayed on the court, the mentality as well as how much she puts into every single match is something I hope to capture in this piece. Outside the court, they're often different people, and that's something I want people to learn about too in my pieces. People are often both sides, and you only get to know the other side of them when you really get to know them.
