Artist Statement
The sketches of this accessory series were inspired by the original characters that I designed over the past year - Luke, Keyn, and Chase. The first design, which is also the one I ended up making, draws from Luke’s personality and visual motif. Luke is a star-like presence who is outwardly simple, yet constantly burning himself to radiate energy to those around him. His brightness is not fixed and is shaped by his surroundings, making him shine intensely at times and dim at others. This instability is reflected in the design by placing the star within a surrounding ring, suggesting both orbit and confinement. The third and fourth designs take inspiration from the lamp Keyn carries during his first appearance in the story, and this motif is further developed through the integration of a sun-like form at the center, which symbolizes Keyn’s role as a steady, grounding force that others rely on. The fifth design is relatively simple, inspired by Chase's hair-tie, an object he carries around all the time. Of all, the second design is the only one that was not directly inspired by a character - it was inspired by the "time travel/time loop" element in the story, as the shape of the ring resembles a mobius loop.
