Artist Statement
In this class, we began exploring light painting which requires a very long shutter speed, allowing us to expose the camera to a lot of light while trying to ensure the background is dark to emphasize the light painting. To do this, we used a lens which can adjust in brightness depending on the depth and dropped our ISO down to 100 so that the picture can have a dark background. To start off, we used many different lights and colours to create the alphabet, allowing us to have an insight in how to do light painting for our next project.
