Artist Statement
This is my SI #3, and it portrays a digital camera photo I took with my friends when we hung out together. I wanted to incorporate the nostalgic emotion it delivered to me. With the bright colors, this picture also reminded me of the bright colors you see as a child, which made me want to use a oil pastel as a medium to remind us of the crayons and textured drawings we made as a child. Taken in senior year, I wanted to dedicate this piece to remember that even in the year of our graduation, we were still excited to see ice cream that was themed off of mario.
