Artist Statement
This piece investigates form, rhythm, and material transformation through the combination of paper, wire, and plaster. The primary structure consists of ruffled paper, cut, folded, and layered to create flowing volumes that resemble fabric or organic growths. Alongside this, a secondary element of twisted wire coated in plaster introduces texture, density, and contrast.
By manipulating fragile paper into sculptural forms and pairing it with the rigidity of plastered wire, I explored the tension between softness and hardness, control and irregularity. The dialogue between the two materials reflects a broader theme of transformation—how ordinary materials can be reshaped into unexpected, expressive structures.
