Artist Statement
In this animation, the top plane represents the dream world, while the bottom plane represents the physical world.
Physical Plane: A moving road symbolizes the passage of time. There is an absence of buildings and objects to hint at how reality transforms with our perceptions.
Items on the Dream plane:
Stairs: Dream of my Taiwanese grandpa handing me a set of green peas, before ascending to heaven. I never dreamed of him since.
Elephant: Dream of My Thai grandpa paying respects to him atop a royal elephant, and when he woke up, he immediately received news that my mother was expecting a baby. Since then, the elephant has become a part of my identity.
Coffin: My grandma's dream of how she knew her father's coffin was flooded underground. It turned out true.
