Artist Statement
While designing my dream space, I envisioned a place that felt both safe and secluded. To achieve that, I built concrete walls and a concrete ceiling, which give the room a strong, secure atmosphere. I also added a table tennis table not just for fun, but so I could practice alone or play with friends when they visit. It’s a great way to prepare for tournaments or simply unwind. For the flooring, I chose wood because I’ve always loved its texture and warmth. Although I considered using wood for the walls or ceiling, I felt it wouldn’t suit the overall aesthetic. To help me keep track of time and stay organized, I included two clocks. They serve both a decorative and practical purpose, reminding me of upcoming events and helping me manage my day. In one corner, I set up a small desk and office area where I can work or play video games. On the desk, I keep a phone for communication and a lamp to brighten the space. It’s a cozy and functional setup that supports both productivity and relaxation. Next to the office area is a mini living room. It features a comfortable couch, a modern medium sized TV, a stylish light fixture, and most importantly a dog. I chose this particular couch because it looked incredibly comfortable for both sitting and lying down. The TV is positioned directly in front of the couch, perfect for watching movies or gaming. As for the dog, it’s something I’ve always dreamed of having. To me, no safe haven is complete without a loyal companion. Including a dog in my dream space adds warmth, joy, and a sense of companionship that makes the entire place feel truly like home.
