Artist Statement
The shoelace project is a project that follows the sequence of a person, from them walking, noticing the untied shoelace, showing a sign of frustration, kneeling down, tying their shoe and continuing to walk. It is a 20 second film that has no dialogue. Some scenes that are important are an insert shot, a mastershot (one that shows the entire setting and action), and they also have to be edited with the matching on action technique (continuous sequence). This project’s goal is to establish how to edit seamlessly and use different types of shots.
