Artist Statement
Descriptive Statement (sustained investigation inquiry):
Question: How can I use color, texture, and layered forms to visually experience the emotional spectrum of human emotions in human experience, such as censorship, news, violence, and relationships?
Artist Statement/Writeup: My works explore the relationship between memory, emotion, and environment, how humans instinctively attach feelings to the spaces and moments that shape them. Each piece is meant to visualize the way memories linger with me, altering how we perceive the world around us. Through drawing, I often recall fragments or personal and collective memory, translating the emotional imprints into physical spaces.
By experimenting with different styles and themes of colors, I aim to show how environments become extensions of four internal states, how a place can feel warm or haunting depending on the memories tied to it. These drawings act as visual echoes of moments that no longer exist yet continue to influence our emotions and perceptions. Ultimately, my work reflects on the human tendency to see the world not as it is, but as it feels.
