Artist Statement
The cross that once held as a sacred symbol has slowly been reduced to a fashion statement, with its meaning blurred by popularity and trends. But wearing a cross was never about displaying your faith, it was about remembrance. The fish Ichthys, whose letters spelled for Iēsous Christos Theou Yios Sōtēr could be translated to Jesus Christ, God’s Son, Savior. It was a quiet code, a reminder that faith can take many forms yet still point back to the same truth. I designed it not to show others, but to remind myself of where I come from, what I believe, and the presence of God that carried me through it all.
