Artist Statement
I was initially inspired by the mountains of Taiwan, especially the peak of Yushan mountain, and I decided to make it out of recycled plastic bottles to bring in a sustainable element. The plastic bottles are hung from strings from bamboo scaffolding, creating a wave shape that resembles the mountain. I also wanted to include lights in this sculpture, using sustainable solar powered LEDs. However, the plastic bottles that are needed to be cut and assembled was too much, so I decided to use 3d PET printing instead to create a hydroponic garden.
