Artist Statement

This is a drawing of an object of a small palm-sized elephant statue/sculpture given to me by my grand aunt. I have chosen this object as my Thai nickname is "Royal Elephant/King's Elephant." This was largely because my grandpa had a dream of me paying my respects to him atop a royal elephant, and when he woke up, he immediately received news that my mother was expecting a baby. Since then, I have associated the elephant as a prominent marker of my identity.

The elephant, for me, is a symbol of a stable foundation. I firmly believe that the beginning of all great things arise from a firm foundation, then branching out to higher-level and more advanced areas.
