Artist Statement

In response to the alarming decline of oyster populations over recent decades, my work seeks to capture and preserve their exquisite beauty while advocating for their survival. By employing unconventional media, I strive to emulate the oyster’s inherent allure without contributing to the harmful practices of pearl harvesting. My artistic process involves innovative techniques that mimic the lustrous qualities of pearls and the intricate textures of oyster shells. Through this approach, I aim to create a visual dialogue about the fragility of marine ecosystems and the urgent need for conservation.
