Artist Statement
In order to embody the spirit of the year of 2025, the year of the snake, for this project I have created a gargantuous green snake from prismarine blocks coiled up on a patch of land near the sea, surrounding a living space within the coil of the snake of which the snake is wrapped around. In order to both bring the snake alive as well as highlight the demonic fierceness typically associated with the image of a serpent, I made the eyes of the snake out of a magma block, then lighting it aflame. In order to increase the liveliness of the snake, it's fangs are shown and its tongue is outstretched. I also added glowing blocks to iluminate the snake at night, providing vision as well as drawing attention to it.
